Sherita Jager

How nice that you ended up on my website. I would like to introduce myself to you! I am Sherita Jager, freelance journalist, translator and copywriter. I do this with a lot of precision, fun, skill and enthusiasm.

My background

I was born and raised in the Netherlands. I studied Journalism at the School for Journalism in Utrecht. During this four-year study I learned all the ins and outs of journalism. I choose the specialisation of magazines. In my third year I went to Madrid for a minor in Philosophy and Modern History – all in español, of course. My last study year was spent on internships. I wrote for several weekly newspapers of the famous Telegraaf Media Group, and I wrote articules for international magazine Grazia. My graduation assignment was about the beauty ideal in the
media, and the effect of this on the self-image of women, a subject that I still like to talk about.

I would like to tell you more about my working method as a freelance journalist and rates, on this page.

Funny facts

I do not like to sleep with socks and I’m not very good at telling jokes.
I’m hilarious on paper, but in real life I am really not funny.

I hate carrots and I’m never sure what’s left and what’s right.

I just can’t with scary movies and I’m afraid of ants.

My strong genres and interests

My strong genres are atmospheric and background articles, interview, reportage, personal descriptions and poems.
I have many interests, including people, languages, culture, Spain, Latin America, gender studies, sociology, beauty, history, philosophy, love, minimalism, sexism, feminism, culture, fashion, wedding trends, sustainable living, (natural) parenting, and jewelry.

Can a person have so many interests?
Is it useful?
Mwah. Although I always have a nice conversation topic.

And then suddenly I thought, it’s done. I don’t like it here in the Netherlands.
I took my clothes and gave everyone a big goodbye kiss. I’m going to Madrid, but what will I do there?
Receptionist, coordinator, and some translations and texts here and there.

But after four years I thought again. I’m done.
I’d like to have more time for my own project. Doesn’t that sound perfect?

So I present Sherita Jager, for all your word games. Translations, articles or just some texts.
What can I help you with?
